At WESTCOAST FISHING TACKLE, we are proud to support our Pro Staff—a dedicated group of certified fishing guides, avid anglers, and television personalities across British Columbia and the Western USA. Our mission is to amplify awareness of our quality products through rigorous testing, regular use, and authentic promotion while fostering a close-knit community that advocates for fisheries and inclusion within the angling world.

Minimum posting requirements apply, along with participation in public events like boat shows, fishing derbies, tradeshows, retail showcases, and knowledge sessions. Attendance at our year-end retreat is also encouraged to recap the season, preview new tackle lines, and connect with fellow ambassadors.
What We Offer
In recognition of their time, dedication, and professional promotion, Pro Staff members receive complimentary tackle, branded clothing, wholesale pricing on products for personal and professional use, and public recognition as valued professionals within the angling community.
How to Join
We conduct Pro Staff recruitment annually, reviewing performance for contract renewals. Interested candidates can request our application and information package by emailing jeff@westcoastfishingtackle.ca. Please note, only qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.

We are super excited to welcome Mark Pendlington to join our PRO STAFF! With 30 years television filming experience fishing on the West Coast, Mark brings with him a wealth of experience. Having tested our products Mark states, “I tested all Westcoast gear this filming season and could not believe the difference in quality components from their mooching rods, jigging rods, swim baits, turd hootchies and unique new flashers on big salmon. These guys know quality and innovative gear from the magic Little Phat-E Gold UV 2.5 on big chinook salmon feeding off 50ft gravel shoals targeting sand lance and the bullet proof Black & Blue 3.5 Phat-E matched this years smaller herring spawn size perfectly for the most consistent number of big fish episodes in years! I look forward to continued testing of Westcoast Fishing Tackle quality innovative gear for years to come!”
You can watch his Westcoast Sporting Journal TV program airing 4 times a week 52 weeks a year on World Fishing Network America, Sportsman Channel Canada, Root Sports Northwest USA and locally on Chek TV Channel 6 Vancouver/Vancouver Island.

Meet Ben, a lifelong fishing addict.
With three fishing goals for 2024, it’s set to be an exciting year on the water.
An ex-pat, Ben grew up in Perth, Western Australia, before moving to Canada to sample the mountain life. After a season in Whistler, Ben ventured to the West Coast to see Tofino and visit a long-time friend. Seeing the pristine waters of Tofino, he decided it was a place he would like to call home, and has now been a resident for over ten years. Being a Red Seal carpenter, Ben was also attracted to the beautiful homes and West Coast style of construction.
Growing up, his weekends and holidays were spent 4WDing, camping, and of course, fishing with his family. The youngest of three boys, he quickly soaked in all that he could learn from his father and two big brothers.
From fishing on the banks of the Swan River targeting bream and flathead, to fishing from jetties for herring, whiting, and squid, to surf fishing on beaches targeting mulloway and tailor, Western Australia’s diverse range of fish species always provided a new surprise. There was something about the challenge and the thrill of the chase.
When Ben turned 21, he bought his first boat—a 3.6m tinny named “The Rascal”—which was perfect for Perth’s estuaries and inshore waters. The Rascal took Ben’s fishing to new heights and farther reaches of the coast. This ignited Ben’s passion for light tackle jigging.
Ben, now a father of two girls, takes joy in teaching them all he can and sharing his love for the sport.
